Generate Traffic with Twitter!

Generate Traffic with Twitter!

Some marketers are reporting fantastic results by using Twitter as part of their marketing strategies. There have been reports that some are even going so far as saying: "They are getting more hits, than they get from Google". I can't verify this trend for myself, however, if you haven't tried it...then don't knock it.

The process of marketing online requires you to be flexible in your various methods of marketing. Twitter just happens to be one of the latest trends that people from all walks of life are using to promote themselves, their businesses, and in the process, meet some interesting individuals that have become friends, and some have become good clients.

One interest thing that draws people to this type of social networking is that Twitter is simple to use. Some individuals even believe it's fashionable. This type of media is often a flash in the pan, and will one day be obsolete, as many other types of programs have been in the past. The point here is to take advantage of this micro blogging phenomenon as long as you can. The old saying: "Ride the horse till it dies" certainly applies here.

Learning how to use Twitter can be accomplished in a couple of hours. Depending on your interest, the basic functions of this media is all one needs to use Twitter effectively. By micro blogging (which means you are limited on the number of characters in your message) you can take just a few seconds and write a brief message of what you do online. Maybe it's just for meeting new people, or maybe to introduce a new product, or promote a new URL of your new web site. Whatever your use of Twitter may be, it can be effective for the most part. You must keep your "tweet" under 140 characters.

When putting together your Twitter profile, make it as interesting to potential followers as possible. You can NOT write a long profile, so use your space wisely. Maybe a bit about your occupation, your other interest in life (Ex: Playing a guitar) or include a couple of keywords about your business with a link pointing to your site. In this competitive market, any thing you can do to promote your business opportunity is worth the efforts.

Picking an interesting username may help you get exposure. This is particularly important if you want to target a niche market. Your username will show up in searches other users make....so having an interesting name, including your niche keywords, may get you some additional traffic to your web site. It's worth considering.

I suggest putting your web site blog URL in your bio information. Statistics show, that over 80% of all Twitter users, don't provide this information. What a wasted opportunity. Little issues like this can make a tremendous difference in your marketing efforts that you're already doing anyway. This is just one more tool you can use from your arsenal of marketing tools to promote your opportunity. Each tool has it's own importance to your online success, so use your marketing tools effectively.

Use the search function offered on Twitter, and find people with similar interests. You may find hundreds or even thousands with like interest. Invite them all to be your followers. This is just one more way you can make a simple, yet effective, system work to your advantage. You may get 20-25 or more, new followers every day.....it's worth a try.

If you are into the social networking scene, then use this system wisely, and to your advantage. Whether you consider your contacts as friend, followers, a lead or a potential client, you must approach this type of marketing with an open mind. If you haven't tried this type of marketing before, you might consider spending a little bit of time, and experimenting to see if this type of media works for you. Track your results and then make that all important decision, whether it's for you.....or not. You have everything to gain, and nothing to loose.

Searching for Effective Keywords!

Searching for Effective Keywords!

Finding the right keywords or keyword phrases for your web site is a never ending process. Just because you thought up some cute words you think might work, won't really matter, if no one is searching for that particular keyword or phrase. It is recommended that you take some time and do a search of your own, on some keywords for a specific product or service of interest. Let's say, you are interested in a new cat....just searching the keyword "cat" is going to give you an overall query reply of millions of results. You can narrow the search to "black cats", and your search results will be considerably less. If you would search for "bobtail black cats" your results would be even less.

The point here is to use terms that the everyday individual person searching for a specific item, can narrow that search down to maybe a few thousand in their query results. Choosing the right key words, you can optimize your search engine optimization campaigns to exactly what people are looking for. You may get fewer leads, however, the leads you do get, are going to be a premium quality lead for follow up, and possibly a nice sale.

There are numerous ways you can determine which keywords you may want to start with. Compile a list of what you think maybe a nice group of keywords. Now narrow that original list down, to the keywords you think that are really laser focused, describing your business opportunity. Now you can search those terms, and you will possibly find that someone else is already on page one of Google with your keyword. Not a Problem!! View your competitors web site source code, see what keywords they are using to have such a high page rank. Add some of your potential competitions keywords into your list. Do some more research if you're still not comfortable with your choice of keywords. Make sure you save your original keyword list, because you will probably being changing some of your keywords or keyword phrases sometime in the future. If you're lucky, you may hit it just right on your first try, however, having a backup list here will save you a lot of time in the future, if you really need to do some changes later on.

If you're searching some of the most popular ad sense keywords with Google, you may not want to go for some of the higher search words they suggest. You may want to try to gain top positions with the search engines, using some less popular words for now. Once you learn the process and have some of your keywords in good positions, then you can start experimenting with the more popular words and phrases. Dream High....but, not to high. Once you gain page rank....then add a popular keyword in your source code every now and then. Try to keep the total character count, in your keyword section of your source code, to about 300-500 characters.

Your goal here, is to earn "Top Positions on Google" and some of the other fine search engines. Page one is the goal of every one out there on the internet, so it's going to take a lot of hard work, fine tuning and writing those keyword rich articles and point some links to your business opportunity web site every single day. By following this process you should gain popularity with the search engines rather quickly.

Don't believe for a minute, that all of the good keywords and keyword phrases are already taken. With hard work and fine tuning to your site, you may be able to gain those top spots from your competitors. Some of the low volume keywords can be just as effective as some of the most popular words. Add your touch of genius to a keyword, and make it a powerful keyword phrase. Never get discouraged. Just a word of encouragement here, If I can do it, so can you.

There are some tools available online that may help you with this ongoing task of finding good keywords. This author doesn't recommend or endorse any particular tool here. Search the internet and see if there is one or more tools that you can incorporate into your own arsenal of marketing tools, to help you with this ongoing task.

Don't try to out guess the search engines. Just be yourself and follow the process, results will follow. If you do nothing, nothing will happen. Just remember, everyone on the internet, started right where you are now. They have earned their positions on the search engines by hard work and determination. No one is going to give you any slack here. You too, will have to earn the right to see top position for a particular keyword or phrase. If you think you can...you will. If you think you can't....you won't! You are what you think....think positive, and you will attain whatever your goals and desires may be, if you, will only apply your abilities! You don't have to give 110%....there is no such thing. Just do your best and the rest will follow. Good Luck in your marketing endeavors.

Search Engine Algorithms are Different!

Search Engine Algorithms are Different!

By now, I'm sure we've all heard the term "Bing" when we talk about search engines. There is a considerable amount of interest and speculation, about how this name change is going to effect SEO strategies, for those who have been using only Google as their primary engine for submissions, optimization, keyword searches and research.

It appears Bing is wanting to take some of the search engine market share from Google, and has made some drastic changes in an attempt to be a major competitor, in the search engine arena. Many people have made it very clear, they felt that Google had a monopoly on the search engine market. I personally feel that each of the big three major search engines have a different approach to providing information to the general public. This is evident from the different results you get when you query a particular subject matter with each of the big three. It is quite obvious to me, that the different results are derived from the different algorithms that each of these engines uses...naturally the results displayed to the user, is going to be somewhat different.

When you type in a search query on Bing, you will get relevant results regarding the subject matter, searched for. The results when you "Google It" are different than Bing simply because of those different algorithms used. Many SEO company experts, have steered away from Live Search, because of the old algorithms used. To get the maximum effectiveness from the old Live Search and Google, you would have to have optimized two totally different ways. In essence, you would have had to build, two different sites.

With the new Bing algorithm, we are all going to have to wait and see, exactly what changes one has to make in their web site, to make it search engine friendly with all the major engines. In the meantime, just keep on working, fine tuning your site for maximum optimization, using the rules you understand for now. If you've been in this business for a while, you already know that the algorithms change frequently, and if you try to understand all the changes, you'll have no time to do what you need to do, to get the job done.

The exact algorithms with the search engines is a closely guarded secret. Many of us who make our living, optimizing web site for our clients, would like, some of these secrets to be shared now, however, the only way to figure out what works and don't work is to experiment on various thing we have heard about, together with proven methods of optimization, we are using now. Sometimes a change will be totally effective, and other times the experiment has no impact on the results with the search engines at all. A good tracking system is vital if you're going to follow this process. The best way is to secure the services of an SEO professional that is experienced in this ongoing chore, and has proven results, that, they can get it done.

If you study it closely, you will see that the new Bing, has some similarities to the old Live Search methods used. It is my experience, the new Bing provides some noticeable improvement from the old Live Search which we will discuss briefly here.

I appears that back links, are possibly not as important to Bing as before. Bing requires less back inks than Google, when trying to acquire higher page ranks. However, in my experience Bing gives you more credit for links, than what Google provides. This becomes a matter of preference with each SEO professional, who you may be working with now.

It appears that the quantity of quality inbound links, might not be as important as having good anchor text. Since anchor text is an important measurement of quality inbound links, you will get credit here with Bing or Google. Either way you win by having a well balanced quality inbound link. Since the quantity of back links is of less importance to Bing, link spamming will get you in trouble with Google.

The comments made in this article, are important things that will affect your efforts of optimizing your web site for the search engines. Study the various aspects of these issues, and make your site the best it can be. If you have additional questions, or need some personal mentoring, the eBiz Solutions Team is standing by to assist you with questions, mentoring or marketing endeavors.

Don't Over Optimize Your Web Site!

Don't Over Optimize Your Web Site!

For those of you who follow my writings, I have put a lot of emphasis on having your web site optimized for the search engines. I have given you information on how to maximize your site for better search engine page rankings on Google, Yahoo and Bing. Optimizing your web site is important to get recognized on line, however, you can over optimize your site, or have an imbalance of the algorithms of the engines if you're not careful. What we will discuss today is, all about keeping that balance in check for the maximum exposure, without being penalized by the search engines.

The search engines really don't care whether your site was intentionally over optimized in an effort to fool them, or you just accidentally over stepped the boundary lines of good common sense optimization. The end result is going to be the same, with deduction of points from your algorithm score, thus lowering your page ranks, or maybe even be banned from Google and some of the other search engines altogether. Learn the process of what is acceptable and not acceptable and follow those practices as closely as possible and you should be able to stay out of trouble with the engine.

Over the years there have been some so-called SEO experts who have over stepped their bounds of optimization and have paid severally for it, by getting banned. We will attempt to point out some of these pitfalls so you can avoid as many problems as possible. First of all, don't try to fool the search engines by manipulation in any fashion. If the search engines don't pick up on your scam, some sharp individual online will pick up on your intent and report you to the various engines, which would be devastating to your online future.

We mentioned in yesterdays article a little bit about Keyword Stuffing. We stated that a 5-7% ratio of keywords to content is acceptable. Some experts will even narrow that percentage figure down to a narrower acceptable ratio. Keyword stuffing is an unethical practice anywhere in your web site or article writings. Over doing this practice in article writing can have an adverse effect on your success in getting your writings accepted and published. Using a higher percentage of say 10% or more will probably make the content of your article, make no sense to the reader anyway. Keyword Density and Keyword Stuffing are two of the areas of optimization you need to understand and practice good common sense at all times regarding their use.

Keyword Density in your title, headings, and the first 50 words of your content does matter. Be very careful not to over do it here, but, make sure some keywords are in your title, meta tags for better exposure of your web site on the internet. One hint her would be to use some synonyms in the content of your article or web site. The search engines look at bold and/or italics in your site as keywords. Again, don't over do it here either. There are marketing tool out there that will help you keep this all in perspective. This author does not recommend or endorse, any particular product for this function, so, go on line and do your research for the one that may fit your particular needs.

Using Doorway pages in most cases, could be a catastrophe waiting to happen. Doorway pages was used by some questionable marketing guru's before all the latest search engine algorithms came into play. Doorway pages can be used to promote your site effectively, however, make sure you know what your doing or you will be penalized very quickly by the search engines. If you use doorway pages and get penalized....don't ask why this happened. The accepted guidelines are very narrow here, so, if you don't understand how to do this process, then forget about using doorway page all together.

Fresh, relevant keyword, rich content, is King in every aspect of search engine optimization. Duplicate content can be a disaster. The meaning of duplicate content is rather simple....it is any text that is the same as the text on a different page of the same web site. If you copy and paste a paragraph from one page of your site and paste it in another page of your site, it is considered as duplicate content, and you will be penalized. Most expert agree that syndicated articles are not considered as duplicate content. If syndicated content was considered as a duplication, then the news agencies would be dropped from the search engines immediately.

Avoid link spamming at all cost. Research the different kinds of links and why they are so important to your online success, and then use those linking strategies to your advantage. You will see a dramatic improvement to your page rankings with the search engines.

If you don't understand this whole process, the eBiz Solutions Team is standing by to assist you in your online endeavors.

Not Everyone Can Be #1 On Google!

Not Everyone Can Be #1 On Google!

Earning a "Top Positions On Google" doesn't just happen. There are multiple factors that must be considered regarding your web site for it to show up in a respectable position with any of the search engines. It is like a huge puzzle that one must work with in order to follow as many of the algorithms of the search engines in order to earn a high page ranks. You must understand the process in order to become a contender for page one rankings on any of the search engines.

The search engines has a base line (ex: starting at 0) that is used for processing the page ranking we referred to above. If you optimize your site correctly you will have points added to your score and the higher the score the higher positions can be obtained.

One example would be the keywords used in your site. Are the keyword relative? If your answer is yes, then you would have points added to the baseline, however, if your keywords do not appear in the content of your site, you may have a deduction for using filler keywords. If you stuff you site with keywords, you will have points deducted from the base line. The secret is to have more plus credits to your score than minus points deducted from your total.

The average layman doesn't understand this process, therefore, professional help may be the only way to achieve higher rankings. This author doe not recommend any particular company to contact for this type of help. There are a number of other factors that enter into this equation, such as: links. You may have a perfectly optimized web site with tons of links, however, if those links are not within the scoring perimeters your ranking scores will be penalized.

Sites that are similar to your site, and linking to you should be a plus to your score, however, if you link to a questionable site and it links back to you, it will hurt your status with the search engines. If you can't figure out the source of negative points, you should seek the help of the professionals. Linking to questionable site will quickly become a ranking killer.

We've talked a lot about keyword stuffing in recent articles, and there are specific guidelines you must follow to avoid being penalized. The 5-7% ratio of keywords to content in your site is crucial. It is imperative for you to keep this balance, to achieve the highest point value possible with the engines. Keyword stuffing is a good way for you to get banned with Google. Be very careful with this part of the overall process.

Google loves inbound and outbound links in your site. I personally think this is one of the most important items for high page ranking. Normally the inbound links (i.e. other sites linking to you) the better off you will be. On the other side of the coin if these links are from questionable sites, your site will suffer quickly. It's like you are being penalized by association. If you hang with bad guys, then you are going to be considered as one of them. Linking to the bad guys sites, will definitely not help your overall score with the search engines.

Search Engine Optimization doesn't just happen, there is a process that must be followed to make it all happen. Every site is structured differently and must be optimized individually. There is no broad brush solution for all sites. Each site must be tailor made for the engines for maximum effectiveness. SEO is an art and science, that comes with lots of research, studying the various algorithms of the search engines, plus putting what you learn into your everyday routine.

Not everyone can be #1 on Google, and quite by accident there may be a few layman who will find the right formula for their web site to appear on page #1 on the engines. However, by getting the help you need from those who know the process can accelerate you chances substantially.

Trying to take shortcuts, or trying to trick the engines and manipulate search engine results with kill you chances of any respectable positions, with any of the search engines. The search engines can't afford to tolerate any unethical practices on any site, so don't think for a moment you can fool them. Avoid trying to take short cuts in this process.

The areas we've discussed in this article are extremely important, however, there are other factors we will discuss in future articles that are equally important to good page rankings. Some examples are: Keyword stuffing, duplicate content, hidden text, hidden links, doorway pages, misleading titles, copyright violations, use of machine generated pages in your site are just some of the items you must be aware of. Construct your web site wisely and within the bounds of the algorithms of the search engines and you should see some definite positive results in the next few weeks or so.

Home Based Business...Start Today!

Home Based Business...Start Today!

Are you stuck in a rut? going to the same old job everyday, with no chance of ever getting over that financial hump that we're all so familiar with. Most of us have to work in order to pay our bills, and most of us want to work and pay our own way. However, there are those that are just plan lazy, and just want to suck off of the system, you know the type I'm talkig about. If you've ever dreamed of working for yourself, then now may be the right time to consider your possibilities.

With a regular 9-5 job we've all experienced, there are limitations we must accept from management if we want to last till our next paycheck. Unfortunately this is how big business is run. You punch the clock everyday....do what your told and you get paid to do the work that someone else don't like to do. Is this beginning to sound a little bit familiar? Well, you have the power to change what you don't like....but only if you have the will to do so. How bout this...start working for yourself in your own home based business.

Home based business is the most popular trend happening today. Why? because people are getting sick and tired of having to do all the grunt work and being paid minimum wages for their efforts. Now you can do something about your unpleasant situation. There are people who are willing and able to help you learn a process in marketing online that will literally change your life forever. These are people who have experienced what you are going through right now. The only difference in you and them is... they did something about it.

The question I'm often ask is....what can I do, to start this change in my life? Well, most of us have a computer and spend an incredible amount of wasted time, playing games, keeping in contact with our friends, exchanging jokes with all our buddies....you know what I'm talking about! Has this form of killing time....ever made you any money? I think the answer is obvious....you've just wasted a lot of time and efforts for nothing. If you're just trying to kill some time....I heard a saying recently; "The best way to kill time is to work it to death."....there's no better way to kill your future than by continuing this worthless ritual of wasting time that we've all grown accustom to! Why not use that same wasted time and look for home based business opportunities online. There are literally millions of opportunities out there....but you have to look for them. They're not going to look for you.

If you don't know how to start the process of looking for a home based business, then, you owe it to yourself to take the time and learn what is available. Don't latch on to the first opportunity you find, unless, you're totally comfortable with what the program does and you understand the concept. Here is where a mentor can be very helpful. Find a company who is willing to spend the time with you so you to learn what it's all about.

You may still have to work your old job to pay the bills....That's OK....however, you can spend the time you've been wasting on the playing games etc. we talked about earlier, and make the time productive so you can accomplish the dreams of your future. Maybe you are a good sales person and you're not getting the paid what you deserve. There are a lot of sales jobs on line....check some of them out, and see if you've got what it takes, to become a successful online entrepreneur.

The expertise you've acquired at your present job may be a tremendous asset that you can use for your new career. I'm not suggesting you fire your old boss today and try to make a full time living online....it probably won't happen. However, you can start out slow, gain some knowledge that will help make a change in your future, plus, you can make some extra money while you learn. How cool is that?

Do some research about the company you may be looking at for your new venture. Avoid fly by night, questionable businesses altogether. If it sounds to good to be true....run from anything you feel may be a scam. There are enough legitimate businesses who are looking for good people just like you, that will make your new venture easier to learn and implement into your new life. "Earn as you Learn" is what it's all about.

If you're tired of the old rat race, and not getting the recognition you deserve, review what I've been sharing with you here. This is an ongoing process that you must develop into your daily life. Change doesn't happen overnight....it's acquired. Only you can make those life changing choices that will benefit you and your future. It may take weeks, months or maybe even years for you to be able to accomplish all your new goals in life. That's all right to! Today is the first day of the rest of your life, so do something now, that will change your life and the lives of those you love tomorrow, and in the future. Enjoy the paycheck you are earning now and pay your bills, but start the ball rolling today, for your own home based business you've only been dreaming of. Make your dreams become a fulfilling reality, today.

The eBiz Solutions Team is standing by to assist you with your questions.

Optimizing for Different Search Engines!

Optimizing for Different Search Engines!

Many times in the web site optimization process we all seem to forget that there are three major search engines we should consider. We all understand that Google is the leader when a person thinks of search engines and the term "Google It" has become a household phrase. Yahoo has acquired about 25% of the market and some reports that MSN has earned from 10-15% of the market. Even though MSN's share of the market is less than the other engines, the users of MSN are truly loyal.

The algorithms of MSN are different than Google and Yahoo, however, there are some rules in the various engines that are used by all the search engines. Just because you rank well with Google and Yahoo, you may not rank well with MSN because of some of their algorithm differences. If you are optimizing specifically for MSN ranking, make sure you keep an eye on your Google and Yahoo rankings. Ranking on top with MSN will likely be ranked low with Google. For online effectiveness you would be wise to have Google on top and MSN on the bottom. The secret here is to build your site with a proper structures that will work with all the big three of the top search engines.

There are specific reasons why this happens. Even though the web site pages spidered by the different engines may be the same, the different algorithms used by the various engines will produce a different search result. All search engines will spider a page and then index the information into their database....then applies their algorithms to the pages spidered and ranks you accordingly.

It appears on the surface that the MSN algorithm is not as advanced as Google and Yahoo, however, that philosophy will be challenged by some experts. MSN focuses more on the metatags than Google and Yahoo. Even though metatags are important to all engines, MSN places a lot of credence on the use of metatags. There are differences between the search engines in the use of keywords. It appears that MSN places more emphasis on keywords than the competition does.

Even though MSN puts more emphasis on keywords than the other engines, be very cautious of not over doing the keyword aspects on your web site source code as well as the keywords in your content. Make sure you don't over do the keyword density for the sake of MSN and then be penalized by Google. Make sure you understand the ratio the individual engines are looking for. Anymore than 5-7% ratio with Google may cause you some problems.....over doing it here could even get you banned on Google. If you make one page for Google and another for MSN....Google may nail you for duplicate content. Do some research here and know what your limitations are before you over do anything in this process. There is a balance that must be maintained here, so if you don't understand this process, seek the help of a professional optimization specialist.

One important point here is that if you build your site to please MSN and stuff your source code and web content with keywords, you may do well with MSN, but be in trouble with Google. However, if your site is optimized correctly you will do well with Google, rank well with Yahoo plus have a respectable position with MSN. You may have to experiment a bit with the proper balance for your site depending on how your site is structured right now.

Well written Meta Tags are an important part of all the different search engine algorithms. Since MSN puts more emphasis on Meta Tags than the other engines, some thought when writing your metatags will help you gain popularity with all the engines. Note....do not keyword stuff your metatags....use some good common sense here...it will save you some bitter consequences later on.

Some advise on the descriptive metatag in your source code is vitally important. This is one of the key factors MSN uses to classify your web site. Leaving this area blank will eliminate any chance of getting recognized by MSN. If you leave the Content="" section in the source code empty in your site you have just sealed any chance of making any kind of internet presence with the search engines.
